35,000 mu of contiguous bamboo forests, a serene southern Jiangsu secret nestled in mountains and rivers

Scenic Overview

Thousands of mu of slender bamboo, embraced by green mountains on all sides, winding paths leading to seclusion, and bamboo shadows dancing in the wind. This is a spiritual sanctuary for urbanites and a natural oxygen bar.

Located in the southern mountainous area of Liyang, Jiangsu Province, Nanshan Bamboo Sea straddles the junction of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui provinces. Covering a total area of 10.6 square kilometers, the core area boasts 35,000 mu of bamboo forests that stretch undulatingly against mountains and rivers, forming a spectacular bamboo sea landscape.

The ecological environment here is exceptional, with a forest coverage rate exceeding 95%. The negative oxygen ion content is hundreds of times higher than in cities, making it a veritable “natural oxygen bar.” The scenic area is home to a variety of bamboo species, mainly moso bamboo, supplemented by dozens of other types such as Phyllostachys viridis, Phyllostachys glauca, and Phyllostachys praecox, maintaining lush greenery all year round.
